TAROM (Romanian Air Transport) was established in 1954. Its fleet consists of 16 modern aircraft - 9 Boeing 737 and 7 ATR42. The route structure fully meets the requirements both of the Romania originating air-travelers and the foreign visitors of the country. The network of scheduled services includes 35 destinations (19 in Europe, 6 in the Near East and the Gulf and 10 domestic).
TAROM is operating 6 flights weekly between Sofia and Bucharest. The airline has long term commercial partnership with the Bulgarian carrier "Hemus Air", designated to serve the same route.
From Sofia via Bucharest TAROM is providing wonderful options for air-travel to Kishinev, Amman, Beirut, Cairo, Dubai, Larnaca and Tel Aviv. A significant number of Bulgarian nationals living in the North-East part of the country, choose Bucharest as a starting point and TAROM as a carrier for their flights to final destinations in Europe and the Near East.
